Adrian Leak FSA

Adrian is an Anglican priest and freelance writer on church history and biography, and for many years was a regular contributor to the Church Times.   

Born in 1938, he was educated at Lancing College and Christ Church, Oxford. After training at Cuddesdon College, he was ordained priest in Coventry Cathedral in 1967. His parochial ministry has included incumbencies in the dioceses of Worcester, Durham and Chichester. He was Archivist and Vicar Choral of York Minster (1981-1986) and Canon Precentor of Guildford Cathedral (1986-1990).  He was manager of the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Dorking (1992-2000), and served as an honorary assistant priest at Holy Trinity, Guildford (1996-2000), and then at St Mary’s, Worplesdon with St Alban’s Wood Street (2000-2006). His last post before retirement was that of Priest-in-Charge of Withyham and Blackham, East Sussex, 2006-2013.  In 2017 Adrian was elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (London).   He is married to Josephine, has two children by his former marriage,  two step-children and a growing number of grand-children.
